Raw background color values as bytes.

Interpretation depends on the image's color type:

  • Color type 0, 4: 2 bytes (u16be gray level)
  • Color type 2, 6: 6 bytes (3x u16be RGB values)
  • Color type 3: 1 byte (u8 palette index)
